Mark
Gilston
Mark Gilston has been performing traditional folk music for over
thirty years. His vast repertoire encompasses songs and
instrumentals from North America and most of Europe, particularly
the British Isles, Scandinavia, and the Balkans. Among the many
instruments he plays are English concertina, Appalachian dulcimer,
guitar, banjo, Bulgarian bagpipes, penny whistle, ocarina, tambura,
and the list goes on!
I had the pleasure of meeting and playing with Mark at the Palestine Old-Time and Dulcimer Festival in Palestine, Texas. His harmonic style and ease on the English concertina is truly impressive. Here is one Swedish selection from his CD, "Troll Road" and two from his CD, "It Would Sure Be a Miracle" .
